The Legend of Korra

Big Dog and I really liked the series Avatar: The Last Airbender, so we decided to watch the new series The Legend of Korra, which takes place after Avatar.  Before I write about the new show, though, I think I'll write a brief synopsis of Avatar.

The Fire Nation is at war with the other nations (Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, and Air Nomads), and it's Aang's job, as the Avatar (the one person who can bend all elements), to stop it.

I think my favorite character from Avatar: The Last Airbender is Toph Bei Fong, a blind Earthbender who can feel vibrations in the earth.  She's just so awesome.

The Legend of Korra is very good so far, and, although I've only watched the first two episodes, I think it will be just as good, if not better, than Avatar.  When the season is over, I'll write a full review of it.

The Hunger Games Movie

Okay, so I just read nevillegirl's post on the Hunger Games movie, and it reminded me that I've been meaning to do my own.

I personally thought that the movie followed the plot of the book very well.  There were only a couple of things that were different from in the books, but they were small, and were just little things you have to do when you're cutting characters and all that.

That was a really short review, but know that the Hunger Games movie is awesome.  I give it a 5/5 for sure.

The Chicks Have Hatched!!!

Our chicks hatched!  We hatched three out of four, which was more than I had hoped for, since usually only 50% of shipped eggs hatch.  One of them died because it bled a lot and had some sort of issue, but we tried our hardest to keep it alive.  Our two others are wonderful Easter Eggers (hybrid Ameracauna-ish chickens that lay colored eggs).  We've got seven more eggs to hatch (some Blue Ameracaunas and some Blue Orpingtons), so we're far from done.  Our chicken Lello is broody, so we're going to try to get her to raise the two chicks that hatched.  They have yet to be named.  In another twenty-one days we'll have more chicks.  Ah, the joy of chickens...

Antoshka

I love this song/cartoon.  I've actually memorized it.  Here's the video that goes with it:
